What is a Bothy Experience?

Our Bothy Experience is an off-grid cabin stay in the wilds of Inverlonan. Completely off-grid you’ll be immersed in nature, waking up to sunrises over Loch Nell with the very best locally produced foods delivered to your door. Inverlonan is all about slow living, reconnecting with nature and celebrating the simple pleasures in life.  

Is it similar to camping?

Yes and No. We are elevating our experience to embrace all the things we love about the outdoors packaged in a luxury cabin experience. There’s a magic in heating your water over a stove and taking a shower outside, cooking up food over your fire pit and listening to the sounds of water lapping at your bothy door. We’ve worked with the very best artisan producers and makers in Scotland to create the ultimate rough luxury stay. 

What does the accommodation consist of?

We’ve built three architecturally designed off-grid cabins that accommodate 2 people in each. Each bothy has a private deck area, with views of Loch Nell and the surrounding landscape. Large windows carefully placed immerse our guests in nature. A fire pit, outdoor wood-fired pizza oven and wood-burning stove provide all the equipment you need to cook up a wild feast. 

What are the toilets like?

A few steps from your Bothy is your private ECO toilet compost loos (and no, they don’t smell!). 

How much does it cost?

£280 per night for two people includes ‘Farm to Bothy’ breakfast and all on-site activities. Prices are based on a minimum two-night stay. These prices are based upon seasonality and demand.

What is the cancellation policy?

From your stay date.

90 + days - Full Refund

90 to 30 days - 50%*

30 - stay date - No Refund

*We will do our best to fill your dates in this circumstance. If we do we will offer a Full Refund.

What are the cooking options?

Cook up a feast on your outdoor fire pit or fire up your wood-burning pizza oven. Alternatively, each bothy also has an indoor wood-burning cooking stove and kitchenette. The kitchenette is stocked with local crockery and cooking utensils for your stay. Coffee and tea are included as are some larder sundries for cooking.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes. Beatha Bothy is dog friendly and you can book your stay including your dog through our booking system.

Is there power?

Yes, we are fully renewable. Our power provision of 16 solar panels is enough to charge a phone, lights and small appliances however it is limited. It is all part of the off-grid experience.

Does each Bothy have its own campfire pit?

Yes and a Stadler pizza oven.

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?

Our provisions cater to most dietary restrictions. We will do our best to accommodate. Please just drop us an email.

Will I have my own kitchen?

Yes, each Bothy has a kitchenette.

Where are the Bothies located?

The Bothies are situated lochside near bronze age stone circles, incredible wildlife and landscape. Just 6 miles from Oban so fully accessible. Parking is situated at our farm approx.1km from the Bothies. We recommend keeping your baggage light, bring a good book and your cosiest jumper and you’ll be just right. For larger luggage, there’s secure storage at the farm.  

How do I get to the Bothy?

The Bothies are only accessible by boat, buggy or a 1km walk in on foot. We can help you get your luggage to the bothy upon arrival.

Will there be anyone on site to help me?

Yes, we will be there to help you check-in and make the most of your stay. You will also have our bothy ‘concierge’ number for any questions or in case of emergency.

How can I book?

Can I host an event at the Bothies?

If you are interested in booking all 3 Bothies please just drop us an email. We like site takeovers.

Is there heating in the bothy?

Each bothy has a wood-burning stove and supply of wood to keep you warm and cosy for your stay.

What are the bathrooms like?

Our bothies are fully off-grid to make sure our guests are as close to nature as possible. Each of our bothies is equipped with an outdoor shower; trust us there is something magical about heating your water and bathing outdoors. Each cabin also has a private eco-toilet. You’ll be perfectly sheltered whilst also enjoying a shower au naturale. 

What about food & drink?

You won't want to leave your lochside hideaway so we’ve got you covered. Breakfast is included in the cost of your stay, and we’ll deliver it straight from farm to bothy so you can wake up to a box of the very best local produce. If you want to add supper and snacks to your stay then simply add Bothy Provisions or the Wild Dine Experience to your booking. All your bothy provisions will be delivered straight to your door. 

What time is check-in & check out

Check-in is at 4 pm, there’s sometimes wriggle room so if you’re early just get in touch and we can see if we can accommodate. That’s not a promise but if we can let you in early we will. If we can’t accommodate early check-in we’ve got room for your luggage, so feel free to drop it off with us and we’ll take it down to your bothy. Check out is at 10.30 am, plenty of time to enjoy a lie-in.

Is there internet?

If like us, you’re just a little tired of being connected to the outside world you’ll be pleased to hear there’s no wifi. There is some 4G connectivity depending on network

Wee Ones & Bairns

We love children but guests must be over 18 to stay at our Bothies.

Can you drive to the bothies?

The bothies can only be accessed by buggy, foot or on water. Parking is located at the farm which is approximately 1km from the bothy site. 

How many people does the bothy sleep?

There are three bothies at Inverlonan, each sleeps two adults on a double luxury mattress on the mezzanine floor. Access to this requires guests to climb a ladder.

Is there drinking water at the Bothy?

Each bothy is supplied with drinking water for your stay.

Do you offer food packages at Inverlonan?

Yes, a locally sourced breakfast is included in your stay and will be delivered to your bothy for your arrival. For lunch/supper we have a selection of Bothy Provisions, which you can order at booking checkout. All Bothy Provisions are sourced from local makers and merchants meaning you can cook up a feast of local quality produce for your stay at Inverlonan. Is there a fridge?

Each bothy has a Yeti adventure cooler which is perfect for keeping everything you need chilled.

Do you provide bed linen?

Yes, We provide each bothy with luxury bed lined for your stay. Piglet in Bed - the best.

Can we use our own toiletries and detergents during our stay?

Inverlonan is fully off-grid and considerate to the environment. We've supplied each bothy with natural environmentally friendly products that are sensitive to the bothy surroundings and suitable for an off-grid stay. For that reason, we ask our guests not to use their own toiletries or detergents during your stay - unless they too are super friendly!

Fishing

Each bothy has a fishing rod if you want to try your luck. There is a £100 prize for anyone catching an Arctic Char - photo and return to water!
